Found the forum when looking for advice for what flashgun I should get for my k20.
Have been using Pentax cameras for 15 years now. Also have a *ist DL, which I'm trying to sell to a friend, as well as a Mz50.

Getting a wee bit fed up with the photo magazines pushing Canon and Nikon all the time....

Welcome to the forum.
Don't be disappointed over the commercial dominance of Canon & Nikon - Pentax themselves are also responsible for their absence in the spotlight. Then again, they're only at 3-4% of total dSLR sales...

Anyway, you've got a fine camera in the K20D.

I agree with Ash that you have an excellent camera and should'nt be perturbed about the magazines and camera stores and even some websites inferring that there are only two brands of camera, Nikon and Canon because WE know better. And welcome to the forum.

You'll find lots of good advice here, and a little of the other kind, but most are just trying to be helpful.

For what it's worth, I have a K20D, to which I've recently added the Metz 48 AF-1 flash - a purchase I'm very pleased with. For much the same money (or less) than the Pentax equivalent, it's a bit more powerful and has a swivel head, as well as tilt. This is the third Metz I've had in over thirty years of Pentax photography, and I have to say it isn't half as heavy as the first one, although they've all been good and reliable!
