I'm looking for some help on a Pentax K10D.

I have one which I have used in wireless mode with the Pentax AF 540 FGZ external flash. I just purchased a new one for back-up, but I apparently do not have the "wireless" feature on this recently purchased Pentax. Is there a way to get that feature through software of some other means.

There should be no difference between your old and new K10D.
Check the wireless mode settings in the menu and ensure your flash is able to sync with your K10D.
Let us know more about how the wireless feature is not permitted on your new K10D.
