Hello from Silver Spring, MD!

Hey guys and gals just joined these forums and I am excited to tell everyone about it

I'm a beginner in photography but very eager to learn the basics before I move on to more advanced topics. Currently, I have a canon powershot something and one of those advanced point and shoots...a fuji s1500.

(Don't crucify me yet!) BUT in the next few weeks I will be purchasing a K-x (possibly a K-7 if I can afford it )

I'll probably keep the somewhat useful fuji for situations where a dslr wouldn't be appropriate or welcomed. If you click on my profile there's a link to my flickr page but there's nothing too interesting there...yet!

Thanks carl.
What does a k7 go for? I've almost got enough for a k-x but is it worth it to save up even longer for the kay seven?

The K-7 is a fine concept dSLR, but unless you know you're going to take your photography to the 'next level' then the K-x would more than likely suffice for you. In fact, the K-x has got to be the best entry-level camera around, and with its excellent sensor, it even trumps the K-7 at high ISO performance.

Enjoy deciding and look forward to your contributions.

Id be going for the k-x at this stage. Santa gave one to my wife for xmas and its awesome. Bit smaller and dosnt feel as solid as my K10D but the high iso results are amazing. Have to remember to take it off the high iso when not needed. Would be easy to just not worry about it, its that good. Can even copywrite every shot you take automatically. Setting in camera that you put your name into. All the best.

Welcome to this forum,
I hope you will enjoy it!

In December I had the same dilemma.
In the end I decided to go for the K-7 (weather resistant).
But both are very nice!
