Hello from France

Hi, I just joined Pentax Forum and as I am French, I hope you will eventually forgive my sometimes faulty English.
I got my first SLR camera in 1976 (yes, some of us are still alive!) and it is a K2 which still works fine although I don't shoot much film any more. I' ll certainly revive some of my old lenses, especially those with the magic green "A"!
34 years later, I got my new K7 yesterday and I still have not wiped that grin off my face...
Having been away from Pentax for so long, I need some advice to choose which second hand prime lenses I'm going to buy (24, 28, 50, 100...?)
I'm mainly here to learn ; I'm not a technician but I do love quality pictures.
Thanks for your help and understanding.

Hi, Breton.

Welcome. I started in 1974 myself with a SP500 and I think I'm still alive as well

Salut!

Ne t'inquiètes pas pour ton anglais. Ils endurent le mien depuis quelques années et je n'ai jamais eu de commentaires négatifs.

Enjoy your new "toy". And let everybody know that the grin will be there for a while, so they should get used to it.

Sacre bleu! Je m'appelle Ira, and that's all the French I speak.

Hello!

My high school French teachers must have really sucked, because although I always did very well, I couldn't remember a word the day after I graduated.

Welcome Breton and enjoy your time here.
You have done well to go with the K-7 - it's an impressive piece of engineering.
Hope to see more of you on the forum in the future.

I'm going to take a shot at this, and I swear, no one helped me:

"Don't worry yourself about your ton of English. After so many years here, I've never heard a negative comment [about someone's English]. My purple Volkswagen needs new tires."

Yves, was I close?

You are not exactly on, but you're not too far off. The "someone's English" is about mine. And I'm trying to figure out where the Volkswagen is coming from?

Hi Breton, I am new to the forum too. I am an American, but lived in France 12 years as a kid. At 44, I've forgotten plenty of grammar and spelling. I am an artist/painter primarily, but photography is like a quick painting to me. Talk to you soon.

The Volkswagen part comes from a New York sense of humor.
