Greetings from Norway

Hi, new member reporting for duty!
I have been into hobbyist photography for about 20 years, but didn't get myself a SLR (a Minolta) until about 10 years ago - to get some good shots of my first-born. Four years ago i put the SLR on the shelf, preferring the ease of a Fujifilm Finepix digital compact camera - which did serve me well, through thousands and thousands of pictures, until it had enough of the rough handling last autumn. I then got a great deal on a Pentax K-x through a friend in the business and now find myself delving deeper and deeper into the wonderful world of photography. Having found a lot of good tips and advice on the Pentax Forums, I found it was time to join in. I also have to say, I find the devotion and whole-hearted spirit of the Pentaxians refreshing and quite irresistible. I love my K-x a little more for every shot that goes by and, more than ever before, I look forward to the arrival of spring here in the Arctic! It's been a cold and snowy winter, even here on the west coast, but soon, I can take my newly aquired Takumar lenses out into Mother Nature's own light studio!!! The Takumar Club will probably be my forum of choice most of the time, but, Hell!! I am proud to be a Pentaxian!
Be seeing you, peoples!

Your duty is to go out and shoot, come back and share. I look forward to seeing some shots from your Takumars.

Hi again, thanks for warm welcomes!
Ira, I have a Super-Multi-Coated Tak 50/1.4, a Super-Tak 55/1.8 and a Super-Tak 135/2.5. (see my profile.)
Would love to have a 17 or 20 mm also, but they are rare and the prices on eBay scare the h*** out of me....I don't have that kind of money in sight.
Have the 18-55 kit lens though, it's pretty neat for the price I paid.

I think I'm lusting after the Helios 44 (58mm). If you go to the Soviet Lens Club thread, there's outstanding stuff there:

Plus, in Norway, easier for YOU to find that Russian glass than us.

I haven't really tried the Helios much yet - the Taks have been "glued" to the lens mount...
I Bought it while waiting for the 50 and 135 Taks, heard good things about it as a portrait lens. I might sell it eventually, having two nice Takumars that I love. I will try it out for some time, though. It's not too hard getting hold of russian glass on eBay, that's where I got mine anyway. Not too many used-/classic-camera shops in Norway, either.
