Hello all

Hello there,
I used to enjoy photography back in the 80s - remember when you had to wait to see your results? I got out of touch but for the past few years have been enjoying it again very much and also have become a victim of LBA!! I have been a member of another forum but decide to join this forum recently. I hope to contribute and also get help when needed. Below are a few sample shots I have taken with my K20. I would welcome any C&C.

Aberdeen, Scotland - couldn't do anything with the shadow

My son enjoying his Easter egg last year

Last, testing my new DA* 50-135 recently

Thanks for your attention

Hahaha.
I actually live in Yorkshire and was visiting my cousin. It was p***ing down most of the week and this was perhaps the only day we got any decent sunshine. The place I photographed is actually Dunnoter Castle which, I am sure you know, is just outside Aberdeen. Anyway the light was fantastic - I had to lean at a very awkward angle over a barbed wire to get a decent composition and therefore couldn't do anything with the shadow.

BTW Kerrodown,
I also took a few (I think decent) photos of Loch Ness and Urquhart (is that the right spelling?) Castle as well!

Thanks mate but I think I'll have to travel 350 mile again to get the shot once more without the shadow!

Hi,
I think your shadow is not affecting the photo, my eyes never notice them as your shadow, lines are always leading the eyes towards that castle/sea in background.

Thanks for your comments Madhurvays. Funny you should say this because until recently I thought this was a rock! I only noticed it when I had a large print made of it.
Yes I agree, despite the very nice colours, the most pleasing thing for me is the way the line of wheat draws the eye to the castle.
