Hi there everyone,
I am a photography newbie, so go easy on me please :-)

I am trying to learn the tricks required to make the difference between a 'snapshot' and a true photograph... or something like that!

Welcome to the forums ... there's a few members on here from the Gold Coast/Brissy area.

Don't worry ... you aren't the only newbie here

I only just joined not long ago myself.

What camera do you have at the moment?

Hi,
I have just bought a K100D. I am very impressed so far at the image quality that even a novice like me can achieve!

I upgraded from a Kodak point and shoot, which I still have, great for 'party' shots and the like.
I also have a Canon EOS 750QD 35mm camera that I still have, I never seem to have got very good photos out of it though.
I too have noticed quite a few Aussies here, and a few from around here at that, good to see, gotta love the internet!

Still have my trusty *ist DS which should do me for a bit longer.
