Hello all,

I just bought my first SLR, a K100D and I'm already enjoying it. Here's my first picture...

Taken in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S., mid evening. Man did I have to crop it... getting a telephoto/macro will probably help a lot for this type of photo.

I bought my camera because I enjoy the outdoors and more importantly, my first child is due in October and we'd like to take a ridiculous amount of really good pictures (instead of just a ridiculous amount of pictures).

Welcome to the forum. Fortunately your baby will be a lot bigger than that bug, so no cropping needed! Congrats on both the new camera and the pending arrival.
