Adam, yep - simple skin (Lo-Fi). Kinda what I suspected.
Yup- that system is disabled on the simple skin to keep it simple

Sorry!

Thanks Adam, a small question tough: I have of course no problem for supporting the site through buys but as european, it is a bit difficult.

Is any deal with european shop even a remote possibility? I'd be happy to help, really.

I still feel great about the forum and Adam's work. One thing I wonder about is how does he do all this stuff on the forum while working at some job. Oh, he's probably financially independent, unlike all our government entities in this country.

Thanks Adam - got a couple of new tips this time around - the more subtle features I haven't used yet or been aware of (like the double click forum to mark as read).

I must admit I use the hover over link a lot - particulary when looking at the marketplace.

Cheers

Very nicely done, Adam.
A lot of information to digest but good to know where to come to seek answers on how to navigate the site.

But I was hoping that these tutorials would cover at some point how to respond to posts. I've learned from trial and error, and doing searches in the hope that others had asked similar questions, but at the outset quite frankly it was a little intimidating. For instance, I have never used the quick reply button because I don't know what it means and the post reply button works for me.

It would seem to me that a refresher/primer/tutorial of these aspects of navigating the site would be user-friendly for new members as it is the main vehicle to communicate.
Or perhaps I just missed an already existing thread that details this info.
Anyways, just a thought. But thanks again for the tutorials, Jools.

I agree it would make sense to add another tutorial on how to reply to posts.

It could contain some guidelines, for example, I think one should encourage people not to simply quote a post in full if one only refers to one small part of it. In particular, this applies if the quoted post contains a number of large images. Often one sees threads where someone posts a series of images and then somebody quotes them all only to add "Nice images" at the end. This doesn't help with scrolling through posts and keeping the bandwidth low.

I understand that not everyone will want to do this, you might want to add the following hint how to reply to multiple points from a previous post.

This is how the original quote may look like when I start the reply:

I then replicate the "quote" tags (copy & paste), insert my responses, to make it look like:

Yeah, I agree.

That's a good idea!

This then looks as follows:
