Sticky for Lens or Equipment compatibility

There seem to be a never ending number of threads asking will this work with my new DSLR,

Although the bulk of this is related to lenses, there are also flashes etc.

Can we develop an equipment compatability guide, that details what equipment can, and can't be used on pentax cameras.

THis could go perhaps both ways, i.e. M42 lenses on a DSLR, and also DA lenses on a K1000.

I am not sure but I think somewhere, we got into this before, perhaps in a thread with a chart.

Edit note:
Actually now looking back Ole and I had exchanged PMs regarding a chart way back in Dec 2008

The chart is here: The Pentax Camera Lens Compatibility Chart

I'm pretty sure it's in a sticky somewhere, but I'm not sure where (maybe it's an article) and can't check at the moment.

this is the one that Ole prepared and I reviewed with him a year or so ago.

It is a good resourse, and maybe if it is posted in the beginner's forum, with a post like

"Can I use this lens with my camera?" it could answer a lot.

In fact, I think there are some things to add, since the advent of nikon and canon adaptors, and an M42 adaptor that engages the aperture pin so auto only lenses can work without modification. Something to think about

Then we could cut some of the best posts from the using manual lenses thread as a resourse.

That chart is way older than that- I made it, actually, and then Ole put in the remarks at the bottom.

If you'd like to start an informative thread and/or article, be my guest. One of the moderators or I can stick it or make it into an article if needed.
