Market PLace

I'm about to clear my entire inventory. But I can't sell on Marketplace until I donate? Is this correct? I just want to make sure. Seems a bit strange but if that's the protocol, I'll abide.

That is correct unless you are a Pentaxian (over 1000 posts).

For a minimum $10 donation, you can list as much as you want (unless you are actually a reseller, which will become obvious to the administrators) and it stays listed until you mark it sold or it's been there for (I think) 120 days. You can accept paper payment or you can dictate your own other terms.

The only real requirement is that you say what you are selling, where it is, where you will ship to, and your price. You can make the price firm or best offer or even entertain trades if you wish. Try that with some of the more established general selling sites.

Pretty fair bargain if you ask me, especially since this is a dedicated Pentax audience (for the most part). Compare that to the cost of just Listing on Ebay, not to mention the commissions you pay them with virtually no seller protection.

Shouldn't this thread be in site suggestions?

Anyway, wanted to add what Adam supplied to me, in a question about my being a Pentaxian and selling. He seems to have some new rules:

Absolutely correct. Look at eBay's protocol- need I say more?

Thread moved to site help.

It is absolutely worth every penny - if you intend to sell a total of over $150 in goods you'll be ahead of ebay, which ends up charging about 7% in fees (insertion, final value).

I don't get the 200 posts & 2 year membership and the 1000 posts & 2 year membership. Doesn't the one supersede the second one? It seems like there is a number wrong on one of those lines.

The first requirement also states "and 50 reputations." The second requirement states, "1000 posts and (2 years membership OR 50 reputations). So, to elaborate, you need all of the above first entry to get selling and Pentaxian status, where as the second requirement is either 1000 posts and 2 years membership, or 1000 posts and 50 reputations. At least that's how I read it as being.

O.k. I see. The Problem I see with the reputation points is that a lot of people aren't bothering with it.

It is "Site Suggestions & Forum Help." Help requests are often in the form of a question.

This is the forum I meant, I just shortened the title. "Site Suggestions and Forum Help" since both are there in the title of this forum, so, the first part is also there.

What the???

When did the rules to become a Pentaxian change?

Are the rules based on when you joined the forum or when you reach level x?

I can't answer when they changed, only Adam can do that. But the rules are from when you joined.
