Lenses that can do Full Frame in the lens DB

Maybe I'm mistaken. Let me know if that's the case. Maybe it's already there and I just didn't see it.

I do not have a full-frame camera nor do I expect to have one in the near future, but since there are so many FF discussions out there I couldn't help starting to be curious about my own lenses.

I find many discussions are about people not being sure of their lens (or the lens they are coveting) is FF capable or not.

So here's my suggestion:

In the Lens database review section, would it be possible to add in the lens technical details and description if it will fit Full Frame?
The gaps can be filled in as we go along finding out which fit and which don't.

This way, if Pentax ever releases a FF camera there will be a ready-made lens compatibility database.

Thanks!

Flickeroo

This is indicated on a per-category basis in the database. All non-DA/DA L lenses are full-frame.

I'm an idiot. Thanks.

Oh, might as well ask while I'm on a roll, does this ring true for third party lenses as well?

Nope, AFAIK those have their own terminology such as 'DC for aps and DG for ff' in Sigma's case. I will gladly add manufacturer specific info if someone were to contribute it.

I'll see what I can find out as I go along.
I don't think I'm knowledgeable enough to be an authority on it, so I'll make sure that whatever details I find out I'll give links for others to confirm.
Do you think a call for info would be useful in the Lens discussion forum?

Can the offical 35mm image circle covering lenses be tagged as FF-compatble in the database?
Currently these are the DA* 200mm & 300mm as well as the DA 560mm.
