Incorrect pricing shown for K-5

The price shown for the K-5 is no longer accurate as it indicates a $1399 street price...nope it's $1599 everywhere in the US.

I realize the it was implied the street price would be lower but that is not currently the reality. To leave it as-is, is unintentionally misleading.

Perhaps the street price is not a reasonable thing to show because that is too volatile in how cameras seem to be priced as a commodity now rather than products.

It might be useful to list global prices, MSRP as well as street prices if you retain those values.

Fair enough- we'll update that if the rebates don't come out soon.

cool...just thought I'd mention it...keep prices updated is a royal PITA, hehehe, I tried it in my original K-7 price watch thread and the thing drove me nuts and that is when I noticed pricing is so volatile these days making cameras seem as if they are commodities rather than products. I often wonder if that level of uncertainty drives many potential customers away (not talking just Pentax) because they just can't plan or get so frustrated with the moving targets. It's just a weird new way of selling or call it "the new retail".

BTW, years back if you remember, Amazon was actually looked at pretty closely by some Fed or consumer agency because they don't show all customers the same price, even if those customers look at the item at the same time. So, it's not only the mfg's here, Amazon started the practice and it's just some mfg's have now taken it to another level all together.
