No, should be no wait at all - have you tried again, maybe you pushed the wrong button?

TigerLord,

I checked the queue for moderated threads and validated one of your threads (the other was similar so I deleted it). I'm not sure what the criteria is for a thread being moderated, I'll have to ask Mo or maybe he can chime in. Sorry for the wait and/or confusion.

Hi TigerLord,

I have an automated spam filter installed which catches pretty much every spam thread out there, but sometimes things go wrong and it moderates legit threads for new users with 0 posts.

Sorry for the wait! I'm doing my best to check the queue every day!

It seems to be working pretty good Mo, I've seen very little spam on here.

We get very little spam to begin with (at most a thread or two per month), but since most of the ads are auto-generated by bots, the keywords tend to be very common to all the threads

As an aid for all legit users, I'm considering installing a small add-on to the User CP, however, that would notify users of any moderator changes to their threads. Would anyone in particular be interested in this? I know that many threads are misplaced every day, and although I normally leave a 3-hour redirect on the threads when I move them, sometimes people still end up being unable to find them. Also, users would be able to see all their knowledgebase submissions that are still in the moderation queue.

that does make a lot of sense, and would make it easier for a lot of people.

I've now installed the modification- later this evening I will post an announcement and tweak it a bit. The log is accessible from your User CP index.

I'm wondering whether my first-ever post has been eaten by the filter !

I posted to the thread about the 'leaning viewfinder' yesterday (https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-dslr-discussion/11857-leaning-viewfinder-k10d.html), and got a message that my post was being referred to the moderator. I guessed that's because it was my first post. However, it hasn't showed up !

If it is in a queue for manual interrogation then that's fine, I'll hang on...
Or did I press the wrong button ?

(Edited to add that it wasn't actually my first-ever post, it was my second...)

Hello Karma Mechanic,

Please check again and see if your post is visible. I went ahead in the queue and found 4 legit threads and 4 different posts that were in the queue and one of them was yours, I believe.

To the legit posters, I apologize for any delay in having your post and/or thread visible. I'll try to make it a habit to check the queue everyday when I check the forums.
