Photo Tags for used lens

I was wondering, I've seen for a long time different requests made for images made with this or that lens for a comparison between them or for basis. Is there a simple way of implementing that for the galleries so you just go searching for the lens and find an amount of pics shot with it?

I know that the lens clubs are made for that but for example, the tak club is so vast that searching for a special flavor of tak is incredibly time-consuming (A request could be done, and is how it's been going around).

I think you can already search by lens within the gallery. I should theoretically be possible to search through the exif as well, but that's not implemented at the moment. Have you tried the gallery search?

Thanks for the quick answer.

I fumbled around and checked different areas of the gallery, but didn't do a search. I think a little dumb from my part. Will do and post results here.

Problem with exif is that pre-A series glass wont appear there. And won't appear in the search unless the owner did post the lens in the comment. Wich now i think is similar to what i was thinking.

Edit: Just did a couple of searches. The hits were all over the place, searching for "35mm Takumar" gave results for both takumar glass and 35mm lenses. The same for similar searches for other lenses. I was wondering how could something like this be implemented but couldn't find a simple way. Even worse, a backwards compatibility/change to past photos to be able to get included in the results.

"Takumar 35mm" in quotes should search for the exact string.

I'm not sure what you mean about backwards compatibility- but if there's not exif and no supplied lens data, then I'm afraid the photo can't be matched to a lens.

BTW, there are lots of sample photos in the lens review section.
