I was starting to go into shock. Not coping at all well without the forum. I was beginning to wonder how I could find out whether it was just me or whether others were experiencing problems too!!!

Thanks Adam for all your hard work! The forums are much appreciated! (even if they border on an obsession for some!)

I'm happy to say that memcached is now back online, meaning that our homepage should be lightning-fast, and the forum should run faster. Furthermore, we've resolved the incessant segmentation faults observed prior to the crash. Enjoy the site!

Adam,

I have noticed a couple of times that 'things' seem to be done on the 'live' system; at occasion modifications that are made to the site cause problems and now this one.

I know accidents happen, but there does not seem to be redundancy? You would have been up-and-running again within a minute or so if you could have switched to a redundant system.

Just something to think about.

Yeah, I've been thinking of running multiple servers. A managed solution would probably work wonders in the long run.

Thank you Adam! ...and everybody else involved in getting it back up to speed. I thought it was just a glitch, but as time went by I started to get scared. Could it be? Is it gone?
Thanks again!

Yeah cruel huh!? For a moment there I had to get a real life too.

I can't believe that people actually survived before the great revolution, they must have played contact sports or something sedentary like that.

Thanks for your efforts, Adam. When I got a Plesk page, I knew there might be a bit of a kerfluffle . I'm sure we can all appreciate the hard work which you put into restoring this wonderful site.

If that persists you might want to consider getting one of these ;-)

"Me too" on a more serious note; thanks to Adam and the rest of the crew for getting the forum back to its old snappy self (it seems) and keeping it that way :-)

Here in Europe we missed during daytime, so it was much worse for us trying and trying again to reach you! Others, lucky them, missed you only during the night.
Thank you Adam!
