Inability to Manage Attatchments

I have tried multiple times to actually put some images on this great forum, but I always get stopped in my attempts when I try to add attatchments. Each time I hit 'Manage attatchments' and then choose a picture and hit 'upload images', I get the following:

- It says 'Uploading files, please wait'
- My green 'files owned' bar does not move at all
-After a minute, this comes up:
Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid.
This error likely occurred due to a session timeout. Please log in again and refresh the previous page.

This occurs each time I try to upload.
Can anyone help me out here? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for the help.

Hi MSD,

I have had the exact same message earlier today, but it has not appeared again.
As I am not that familiar with uploading and storing pictures on the forum, I gave it a try with a couple of files. That worked without any trouble.

As you experience time-out's, could that be related to the size of the files you are trying to upload?

Edit: No I tried with files at maximum size, that worked as well. Sorry.

François

The PHP upload limit on our server is set to 45 seconds. Any upload lasting longer than that will time out. Furthermore, any post data > 4Mb will also be rejected.

Make sure your file is within the attachment limits before uploading!

The token error occurs only when your session is no longer current.

Hi Adam
A while ago I was trying to post an image so the forum members could see what I was doing wrong. How do I re-size the image to fit the parameters, without having to change the original in my Lightroom gallery? They also asked me to post the metadata to see my settings.
The images from my K7 are huge.. 4600x3100 approx..

I'd like to start a Gallery on here, but it would take forever if I had to re-size (even after I figure out how)

You should ask in the processing forum. I just use photoshop, open the file, do edit>resize, then save it. EXIF won't be stripped.

Now I know what the problem is, but if I don't have photoshop, can I do this downsizing elsewhere? I use windows and have Pentax photo programs that came in my K20D box.

Hi MSD,

I normally use Irfanview for renaming / resizing batches of pictures. It's quite easy and faster than resizing them one by one. There is also FastStone Image Viewer and quite a lot of other applications that would do it in a quick and efficient way.
Let us know if you need more help.
