Linking Flicker Shots Here

Hi:

I've started a new Flicker account, and would like to know how I can link the pics there to our forum. I figured out how to post a link to the shots, but I see others posting their Flicker shots directly here. Tx

1) Go to flickr, choose the photo you want to post
2) Click on "Actions" on top left, then "View all sizes", select the size you want the picture to show up as
3) Right-click on the picture itself, choose "Copy image URL"
4) In your post, click the "Insert image" button (above the message box, icon with mountains in it) and paste the link in the box that pops up.

Done. Click "Go Advanced" or "Preview Post" to see how it turns out.

If you're using something like Internet Explorer, in step 3, you'll have to instead right-click on the picture, select "Properties", and then copy the image address.

Flickr discourages that method now. The Flickr-approved method of linking to photos is:

1) Go to flickr, choose the photo you want to post
2) Click on "Share This," located right next to Actions
3) Click on "Grab the HTML code/BBCode"
4) Choose the size of photo you want to share from the dropdown menu
5) Choose BBCode
6) Copy the text from the textbox and paste the text into a message here

This will provide your photo and a link back to the Flickr page, which is what Flickr wants.

Much more convenient and it actually works! I usually edit the second URL out for a cleaner look.

Medium size (either the 500 or the 640 pixels wide version) usually works well. It's not too wide, and people can click through to the photo page at Flickr as well.
