Error French characters

In this thread, I noticed something strange in the original French message.
The characters é and à don't seem to display properly.
I see "é" instead of "é" and "à" instead of "à" - without the quotes of course.

I'm not an expert on charsets, but I have a feeling that what they typed wasn't unicode.

It's certainly strange since I can type those characters and they are displayed without a problem.
I do probably have a different character set though. Mine includes the French characters as well.

The translator didn't seem to have a problem with understanding the words. The translation seems good enough. That's the most important part, I guess.

If I were to edit his post and paste in the correct accented characters, I'm sure they'd show up!
