I like the new skin, very modern looking.

Like many have said before, too much white space. Try one the white skin and see what I mean. Qualitatively, I think white space should be reduced by 50% overall.

This new skin was designed by a professional and overseen by me, and I'm pretty pedantic when it comes to validation and that sort of stuff. I can assure you, stylesheets aren't the problem here. It does, however, require support for the latest browser and system standards (css3, font embedding), unlike the old skin, and that's probably the issue. If you're getting any errors in the debugger (hit F12) do paste them here, though.
I have a 2 month old computer, monitor, and software, and everything's been properly set in the browser and calibrated with the computer and monitor. There's now at least 3 users on this thread having the same issues. We all don't have improperly set monitors or browser settings.

I agree, the rendering problem is only with this site and most likey, IMO, somewhere in Style Sheets...

*Windows, as goofy as it is, will not forgive certain bad coding...

I don't think you could be using the same style sheets, and the old skin renders perfectly...
Right, I've been using the computer for 2 solid months now, all over the internet with this browser, and used all kinds of software already. This site is the one and only instance of this text blending into the background that I have experienced.

BTW, I have a MAC and not Windows.

Random suggestion

Try hitting CTRL (or command since your on a Mac ?) 0 (as in Zero) Maybe you've accidentally done the ctrl+mousewheel or arrow key think and changed the zoom factor for the page ? I do it quite often in Firefox because the scroll wheel on my Logitech Performance MX lives in 'free spin' mode.... It often makes fonts appear as they do in your screen shot ?

I use Safari. It does absolutely nothing when I press CTRL-zero. There is also no setting to enable ClearType or whatever that Windows setting is.

I have a 25" LED 1080p monitor, and my Safari appearance is set to:

Standard Font - Times 19
Fixed Width Font - Courier 18

Thanks, switched to old look now, hope it will be maintained. I find the new look with bright colors a bit straining on eyes.

I really like it Adam, nice job. I actually like the extra whitespace, but that's just me.

I am using the red version which I think is much more suitable for a Pentax user forum

I don't know if you just added it, but I find I like the blue "simple" layout under the classics a bit better than the standard green one I had been using forever. The text it thicker and easier to read against the white. I'll just stick to this unless the modern text gets changed to a more readable font width for me.

Adam, I really like the Green and the Red skins a lot, but I have a small request for those of us with iffy eyes do you think it would be possible to have one with maybe only green and red accents, a light to medium gray background instead of pure white and black text? I always liked the gray setting better but I could never use it because of all the white and orange. Hot colors, a lot of white it can be very hard on older eyes.

If the color was only in the buttons and headers in a limited way and we had basic black text it would be awesome. I really like the idea of the new themes, but a lot of the white and the text is just much glare for me. I can change that in FF of course, and I do when my eyes get too tired, but it would be nice to have a black and white type theme too. I'm not saying replace the others, but one geared a bit more towards the visually challenged would be a real blessing...

A white-on-black skin will be made available later on.

I find it much easier to read and the colours are pleasant to look at, so for me this is a great move Adam.

Bad readible text in new design

Well, this is the only site where I met this problem of really bad readible text.
I go back to the old lay-out until this problem is solved.
I do not have the impression that something is wrong with my settings since I have never experienced this before.

I use Windows Vista and Firefox as browser.

Im going back to the old skin
