Forum remembers stuff that I don't want it to remember

Somewhere something changed a while ago and 'the forum' now remembers partial replies that one did not post it (yet). Sometimes it's useful, e.g. when one doesn't have the time to finish a reply and want to do this later.

But ...

1)
I recently started replying by quoting a post, went back as I wanted to do a multiquote and the only thing that showed in the textbox was the original quoted post (the other one was missing).
2)
I quote a post in a reply, cut part of the text out, go back and quote the post again expecting the full quoted text but only get the 'cut' version.
3)
While starting this message, I found the content of another thread that I started a while ago in the textbox. That earlier thread was posted (so no reason to remember) but it might have been finished from another computer (I access PF from 4 different computers).

Is there a way to prevent this? I did try a logout which clears the cookies (at least the messages states this ) and it did not help, so there must be something server side.

Your post is saved every time you make a keystroke. If it remembers something that you don't need any more, you can just discard it using control+a and backspace.

Original Poster
Seems to work I think that I overlooked some newlines in the textbox.

Thanks for the reply.

Great! And since you asked, this is actually entirely client-side. A persistent storage system called LocalStorage is now provided by modern browsers and IE8 which is much more reliable and robust than cookies.
