Suggestion Price Check Forum

I'd love to see a Price Check Forum added as a subforum in the Marketplace. I'm about to sell a couple of lenses and I really can't tell what a fair price would be. One doesnt show up on ebay at all at the moment, and the other is showing up with such wildly different prices I have no idea. In the current for sales, there's nothing particularly useful.

Having access to the vast knowledge and experience of such a large group of people would be very helpful.

I hope its not going to be something which keeps us from getting price checks from site members. Thats what I am looking for, right now. 2013 will be too late though I'm sure for others, very useful.

For now, you're welcome to start a thread in the lens forum or elsewhere, and I also recommend that you look over the 'sold' item listings.

The feature will be a database of price histories and you will be able to filter by item condition, country, etc.

An interesting feature to be sure. But historical prices don't necessarily reflect what the market is prepared to pay at the moment the check is done.

I dont really feel its that appropriate to start anything in the lens forum, do you? Really? (checked the solds, not that helpful right at the moment because most are older listings)

Anyway... it will be interesting to look over the new feature next year

How about the "average price" listed with each lens in the Lens Review database?

That can be a bit scary. And disappointing.

[edit] Just had a closer look at the graphs, and they are more helpful than I initially thought. Still disappointing, but yes...

Well... the bottom seems to have dropped out of the used market for the lenses I will be selling? Pretty good reason to be disappointed.
