'Image Finder' not showing images from reviews.

The recently installed 'Image Finder' isn't picking up the images posted in the reviews for lenses; which constituted pretty much the entirety of the prior way to find photos based on lens used. I'd love to see PForums include those images as well.

Right now, only images on our server are displayed in the results. All the lens review pages now have links to the samples, though!

You may want to change the description then, it currently reads "All photos on our website ...". Meaning, that to have an image displayed you have to upload to PForums ... which makes the Image Finder seem like an attempt to boost uploads to your galleries, rather than use the shots already on the website as samples.

Including external photos is definitely something I'll be considering, and all the positive feedback from users following the launch of the system is certainly encouraging. However, implementing it would be a mammoth task, as we'd have to duplicate all of the data on our server in order to deliver the same degree of reliability as with photos already uploaded to the site. This may lead to privacy concerns, as many people share photos that aren't theirs, and as such we'd end up hosting content without the authors' permission, and with no way for the authors to delete their photos without contacting us.

While some features that were originally planned for the system haven't yet been implemented (they will be added later), what you see now is what was originally intended: a system allowing users to find photos on the site based on EXIF data, something which wasn't possible before.

By, "on the site" - I think you are intending to say "photos uploaded to PForums galleries". Meaning, to have a file included, a user has to upload to your galleries ... which would certainly seem to be the bigger privacy concern.

Not just the gallery- thread attachments and public albums as well. If there's a photo you don't want listed in the search engine, you have one of two options: either delete it, or hide it from the search system results using the appropriate button.
