The forum search system is currently being upgraded. Over the course of the next several hours, the entire post database will be re-indexed.

During this time, search results may be incomplete or unavailable for forum keyword searches (though "new post" searches should continue working normally). You may make use of the google site search page in the meantime:

Just an update: posts from August 2012 and newer have now been fully indexed. Indexing of older content has begun and will continue over night.

During this time, the forum search engine may take a while to process your search request.

Indexing is now complete. Please let me know if you find the new search system to give you better results.

The recall should be much higher (if not perfect), with the precision a bit lower.

When doing the menu selection The Latest/Browse New Posts the results page is preceded with a Google section. It didn't use to do that, is it intended? It is a bit annoying.

Nope, it's only supposed to be there for keyword searches. Working on getting rid of it
