How can we get rid of the "announcements" at each page top?

I am seeing "announcements" repeatedly on each page of this forum .... any way at all to just dispose of them ?

To elaborate a bit:

at the top right of each announcement will be a Red button with an "X" on it.
Click it, and the announcement will go away.

But, it only works on that announcement, so each new page will have another announcement, another X, etc.

So really, the red X is kind of pointless.

To be honest, I find it quite irritating...

There's a finite number of notices- so once you get through them all, they won't pop up again basically.

Finite number? Until new ones come along, right?

Thanks Adam.

Yeah, but there still aren't that many- like 5 or 6 in the system at the moment, tops. The rest aren't dismissible, such as the one in the photo contest forum.

It would be a nice bonus feature for members that make donations to be able to permanently disable them...
