The Pentax FAQ Section

Hi guys,

I've been noticing that several threads in which users simply ask questions are popping up in the Pentax DSLR FAQ forum. Please, remember that this section is not for asking questions; it's supposed to contain user-submitted articles that answer frequent questions.

With this in mind, I'd like to gather some input from the community about the future of this section. Do you think that we should keep it as it is, or should it perhaps be closed to public posting (requiring moderator thread approval)? A merge with the tips and techiniques forum would also be possible...

Thanks for your help!

Yes to closing public posting of FAQ section

I almost certain I asked questions in there when I was a new user here and quickly realized that what I was doing was wrong.

Closing the section to public posting would be a good idea because a posting where a question is asked in the section almost always turns into a discussion thread.

It should be more like what I believe you envisioned it - the frequently asked question on the subject line, answer in the post.

I've been meaning to suggest that you change the FAQ section for some time, but it always slips my mind. Moderator-approved threads would be a great idea.

Looks like that's the plan, then. I'll also add a more noticeable readme thread to clarify how the section works
