Question Change needed for lense photo archive message

Can we add a note to ignore the old thread message to the general caution to check the archive index first, before starting new threads.

A user has begun a new thread for a lens already in the archive, because he saw this warning and thought he shouldn't add images to that the old thread

At least with my iPad I don't see any change. Was hoping to see the words please ignore any old thread warnings but didn't. Maybe I'm blind or something

Maybe we're looking in different places. Were you referring to the notice shown at the top of the page, or something else (i.e. text within a thread)?

I've modified the first paragraph of the index asking people to ignore the old thread warning.

That might do it.

I am also going to modify the index and add a couple of posts, to clean up the duplicate threads. I will delete the duplicate thread links from the index, and put the link as a new post in the main thread for the lens.

I am somewhat surprised, but generally pleased that the archive is still alive and well after all this time
