PF logo on my image, just curious what that means.

I spotted my own image on google while searching for field of view information. It has Pentax Forum logo on it. I'm curious what that means, and why it on that image?

That means that the image was found on PentaxForums by Google and the forum software labeled the image as it was posted here. All images I came across so far on Google image search and that were posted on this forum do come with that label. Nice touch, I think.

Google indexes this site, and that information is stored in Exif.

Ok, plain English please So, google finds random images, and if it puts in own search, PF applies logo, right?

Google creates an index of every page on this site. It knows what images are hosted here and can gather information about that image from the Exif data in that image. That can include focal length, shutter speed, ISO etc. It can also include Geolocation data if the camera has a GPS.

Some applications strip Exif from a file when you export a JPEG. Lightroom can strip that data, but does not by default. But as this is a photography related site it helps to keep that data intact.

You can also lose Exif by posting a photo larger than the maximum allowable size. If the site has to resize it it strips the Exif. But it is much better to resize the image yourself, the site tends to make it crap.

Because it is being hosted by the forum software. The forum software will put the logo on the picture.

Still it does not explain why on the same page #1153 only my picture hosted with PF software is marked, and other 2 hosted with PF software are not.

you should launch a lawsuit, you're entitled to all of it

The picture of the falcon I posted with the logo was one of three. The first was the only one with the logo because that was the one that showed up in the Google search. The other two only had the original poster's watermark.

It's a conspiracy, Lana. Not only is there a logo; if you look carefully you'll see a shadowy figure on the grassy knoll in the background.
