I'm truly glad that someone has been paying attention in the right classes.
I hardly drink alcohol at all any more but when I do indulge, it is a single malt scotch whisky and always neat, once in a while a small glass of H20 on the side for the minimum addition if at all.

served in a small brandy glass so I can heat the whisky with the palm of my hand as I swirl it, sniff the vapors and sip

MHO, YMMV

Well, if I do drink liquor at all it is Cognac...I love it but only rarely drink. I think Cognac would get me in trouble in Scotland too!

I keep a bottle handy, the world's best steak sauce can be made with a little flaming Cognac. Even my Mom, who detests any kind of liquor craves my Cognac steak sauce! Real butter, finely chopped shallots, real cream, Cognac, fresh ground black pepper...and you are on your way! ....don't count the calories!

Oh...it be good.....plenty good. The really good stuff is as good as any Whisky or Whiskey that has ever crossed my lips. On a cold winter night a shot in a cup of fresh brewed black coffee is heavenly!

Regretabley, I am mostly a wine drinker nowadays. I drink a glass of deep red wine every night just at bedtime...sleep like a baby. How does it taste? Like all dry wines, it tastes like shoe polish...but is very good for your health and your sweet dreams!

Regards!
