Auto logged out...

I keep getting timed out of the site. Is there a certain amount of "down" time allowed then we're automatically logged out?

It's been happening to me as well. I thought it was a problem with my internet connection.

On my work machine (XP Pro / IE 6.0) I have been logged out WHEN I AM COMPOSING A REPLY - that is, the website is not idle.

At home (WinNT 5.0 / Firefox 5.0) I've never been logged out.

There is a number of oddities from work that never happen at home - the most annoying is when I click any Quick Link the site tells me I must wait five seconds between searches - I can wait 5 minutes and click the QL and I still get that repsonse.

If you're the only one on the computer, then check the 'Remember me' box below the sign in area and sign in - that should keep you on.

I'll look into why you're getting the 5-second message. It should only happen if you access one of the search links (New Posts, Today's Posts) within 5 seconds of each other, though, unless it's a more serious bug.

The current cookie timeout is set to 30 minutes. The cookie timeout length is shown on the Who's Online page, if you'd like to check.

Like I said above, you'll automatically be logged out if you do not load a page for 30 minutes, unless you click the "remember me" checkbox when logging in. Perhaps you're opening up PentaxForums.com - Pentax Photography Forum instead of http://www.pentaxforums.co/forums/? Though most links automatically include the "www.", two different login cookies are used for those addresses, so remember to always include the "www.".

I'm working on a .htaccess redirec in order to avoid future confusion with the "www."- hopefully I'll have it ready soon. Hope that answers all your questions!
