Question Old posts not showing up

I've been a member since 11/07, but if I try to find an old post I made, the search only brings up posts since 2015?? Are the older ones gone?

I guess it depends on how much you post. If I go to "My posts" my 12 pages of posts goes back to 2017-04-11. But I can still reach older posts if I bookmarked the post back in the day.

I book marked this one for future reference in 06-04-13 (I have no idea what that is the way I do dates)

The thread is still there, but it doesn't show up on "my posts" Just as a general rule if you put a lot of work into a post and might want to reference it again, you might want to book mark it, or at least copy the address somewhere.

If you can remember a particular phrase from the post a search should bring it up.

Thanks for the info - I was finally able to find the post! Didn't know we're only *allowed* 12 pages of search results. But, how do I bookmark it? I can see the word "bookmark" at the bottom of the page, but it seems to be related to Facebook, etc (which I don't do) and seems to actually be related to recommending the post as opposed to remembering it???

Depends on the browser but with Chrome or FireFox, press the control key (ctrl) and press the letter D.

Thanks - I wasn't thinking about "bookmark" being a browser function - I was thinking of it being a forum function. Silly me!!

Bookmarking a search results page will most likely not work. You basically need to craft a search URL and then you can bookmark that. What date range are you looking for?

Adam, the thread I was looking for, and found using search words, was from 2008 - I did a bookmark on it and it worked. And, interesting enough - when I bookmarked the search result, I also ended up with a bookmark for a thread that was referenced in the original thread. Not real sure how that happened.
