Include a download for Lens Profile Files (.lpc) in the Lens Database.

I am looking for support to Include a download for Lens Profile Files (.lpc) in the Lens Database.

There are a multitude of old Pentax full frame lenses, still in use today (and some still being sold today), particularly after the release of the full frame Pentax K-1, which are not included in editing softwares standard list of lens profiles.

There was an Adobe Lens Profile Downloader but this is no longer easily available as it has been bundled up with Adobe Photoshop and not everyone has or uses Adobe Photoshop, so it has become awckward to find lens profiles for Pentax lenses.

Therefore I think it would be a nice addition to the Pentax Forums Lens Database to include a download for Lens Profiles, perhaps by a link to a download for each lenses profile on the relevant page which also gives technical information and reviews for each lens available to fit a Pentax camera.

If you support this idea, please let it be known here, thank you.

This might be a bit off topic for what your posting about but it relates to lens profiles so thought the following might interest you.

I use an alternative to Adobe for PP and they use the lensfun database for their lens profiles: lensfun: Lensfun: A library for rectifying and simulating photographic lens distortions this is an example of a database file format: lensfun: Database file format and the current list of Pentax lenses on the database can be found here: Lensfun's coverage

If this interests you and you have lenses not on the list then you can have them added by taking some calibration images as detailed here: Calibration images upload

So like I said, this may or may not be what you're after but it may be a start and also be of interest to other like-minded members.

Thanks Tas, looks like that needs some figuring out but it is relevant I would say
