One thing you can say is, that it is hard to figure out Pextax's SN system. Some of the SN look alike - are they connected with that specific piece of lens or camera? Or does Pentax give the SN just like "well that number we haven't seen before. Let's start there"
Any one knows how the SN are given?

I think they are mostly random, with batches being produced in sequential bursts though.
