Question Lens sample image archive - image storage

Is there a way that images posted in the sample image archive can be stored without using other personal space of the poster, and also, once uploaded, they can be retained even if the poster leaves the forum and or deletes them from his/her personal storage areas (attachments, albums, or gallery photos) the reason for asking is that over time several images have been lost in the archive. It would be nice to have these retained, for the purpose that this was really an archive.

I agree that it would be nice, but at the same time, if the OP wishes to delete the photos, this should also be possible. I will give this some thought.
