should diopter information be added to chart in Owner's Reviews

for the Pentax film SLR camera bodies without self adjusting diopters

it might be nice to indicate what the installed diopter is on the camera in its owner's review chart

the M E Super and the Super Program/Program A is -1.0

others ??

the information is in the owner's manuals' " Specifications " with the " Viewfinder " description

this information is important in order to properly choose what corrective viewfinder attachment to use -

QuoteQuote:
Description:
Use one of the eight available correction lens adapters to adapt the viewfinder image to your eye-sight in case the built-in diopeter adjustment is insufficient. The correction lens adapter M is available in strengths from -5 to +3 diopters.

The Correction Lens Adapter M fits all PENTAX DSLRs and film cameras from the M-series and onwards.

" adjustable "

???

what I have quoted is the specification -1.0 for the built in viewfinder

the " correction lens adapters " just slides on the existing view finder

each " correction lens adapter " is a single strength

Why don’t we just scan a high quality .pdf of every User Guide and add it to the Camera Database?

well

as long as the link keeps working, you could just add this to the user reviews:

PENTAX MANUALS

The main purpose of this website is to provide a facility to download good quality copies of Pentax manuals.
but that would requiring " inquiring minds " to work their way through the manual

instead of just reading what the built in diopter is for the camera

I bet Kim Coxon would permit us to link his manuals - he’s a member.

Adam/Ole could add another field* to the Table of Information and the Forum volunteer crew could research and fill the field with accurate information per camera.

That’s a manual task**. Somebody has to do it - and where does it stop - so people who can’t be bothered to download a pdf and look up such esoteric bits of information are accommodated.

* Or the information could be added to the existing Diopter Correction field in the table.
** As is scanning the manuals. Once upon a time I did some.

perhaps

what I was trying to convey is that the DSLR has a built in adjustment mechanism

as opposed to the ME Super and Pentax Super Program

I believe it is still required of the user to make the adjustment and that the camera does not self-adjust. That would, no doubt, be a pretty clever invention if it did exist!
