Trying to figure out what is going on.

I've been trying to communicate with a seller who listed an item in the marketplace listings that I'm interested in. I got a reply to my PM asking where I am located, then all communication seemed to stop. He says in the main listing thread he cannot contact me, without naming anyone, and so far nothing seems to have gone through since then. I started a second PM, nothing yet. No names have been posted, no price discussions, that took place in PM, as far as I can tell, we've done nothing that violates the marketplace rules.

I know I haven't been around for a while, haven't had an internet connection for quite a while, and having to use a smart phone now, which is not exactly my cup of tea.

But I should be good to go, I've been a member over 10 years, well over the 1000 post threshold, (over 2000) no reason I know of our PM messages may have been stopped, except maybe that I have been AWOL for 2 or 3 years, maybe that is raising questions. I lurk a little now and then but haven't done any posting. Pictures eat up a lot of bandwidth and that's limited, prepaid phone.

Obviously you can still post, so it certainly seems odd that PM does not work. Have you tried sending a PM to someone else, or one of the moderators?

Without knowing which listing, it is difficult to answer your question accurately.

A couple of suggestions for you to consider..............

Your location is outside the Shipping Destinations for this seller.
The seller may be new to the marketplace, and not familiar with the etiquette.
The member may not be logging in regularly to pick up their messages.
Perhaps you have been put on the members Ignore List.

Not sure whether any or all of the above suggestions are in play here, but all transactions are between the 2 parties involved.
For whatever reason, this transaction seems to have stalled. Maybe just chalk this one up to " not meant to be."

Have you tried sending a PM to someone else, or one of the moderators?

Contacting an individual moderator regarding an official request is not recommended, as moderators do not carry out official functions independently from the team.
Any formal request for actions to be taken, need to be sent via the Contact a Moderator function.

Thank you for clarifying the official process and my apologies for suggesting the original poster contact you through PM. Most welcome for the clarification, and no need to apologize for the moderator PM suggestion.
For me personally, Private Messages allow me to take off my moderator hat and be a normal (whatever that means ) member, and as such, they are not official.
