PayPal fees

Hi , I was here for a while.
I always thought that PayPal fees are seller's responsibility.
I am pretty sure that we had that noted somewhere.
Or at least that it was requested as a "gentlemen agreement".
All other online "shops" follow that principal.

Please confirm and direct me to your clear rule regarding this matter.

kind regards

jack

The fees are the seller's responsibility. It's against the PayPal ToS to add the fee or increase the price when accepting payment via PayPal. This may also not be solicited in public marketplace listings, though I'm afraid some users still do it.

That PayPal fees are to be included into the listed sale price, is rather clear (that is, if an item is listed as $100, that $100, is inclusive of PayPal fees).

The problematic aspect though, is when it comes to the shipping cost.

Should it not be the case, that for shipping cost, the buyer should foot the amount that will be the PayPal fees?

Or seller should just include the PayPal fees when quoting shipping cost (that being, work in that amount of PayPal fees when updating buyer on shipping cost)

I like to be clear to my customers that all fees are included in the price they pay, even insurance. Better to be transparent than sleazy.

Absolutely , common sense.

We should ask Adam to clearly note this somewhere within the rules.

But, yes should be appended to the formal rules post.

I "pinned" the post as a "sticky".

I've added this note to the official marketplace rules. However, do bear in mind that this isn't something we can easily or fairly enforce. Therefore, my recommendation is to simply avoid sellers who try to impose unreasonable fees in their listings.
