I wonder why click here for bigger is really smaller

Is it just me or when some folks add pictures to a thread and you see "Click on the image to view it in a larger size" button and you click the pictures and they are actually smaller? Case in point https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/43599-i-like-h...m-limited.html

What's up with that? Just curious.

Are you talking about the 3rd pic in that thread, Pat? The imgwide & imgwideleft bbcode lightbox plugins aren't very effective for portrait oriented photos. It's because lightbox won't "blow up" an image any taller than your browswer's viewport. So depending on your screen resolution and how large you have your browser window resized it may actually shrink the photos in order to make them "fit" within the viewport.

I knew there was a simple answer. That very well could be it. I just always wondered that.

If the original image width is smaller than 800 pixels, the lightbox will indeed render a smaller version. That's why the imgwide code should only be used for wide image, as the tag indicates
