Every now and then, a recent post which had previously shown in the Gallery View (

PentaxForums.com → Photo Sharing and Galleries → Post Your Photos! → Gallery View) disappears from that view, while still appearing in the

PentaxForums.com → Photo Sharing and Galleries → Post Your Photos! view.
This is not a time expiration view, as posts made well before the missing post still appear in the gallery mosaic view.
The thread referred to above in Thread URL (if applicable) is a case in point. It had shown there originally, but now doesn't, even though older posts (including one of my own) are still there, in order of posting, as far as I can tell. Just wondering if there is some sort of glitch in the algorithm that collects the images?
A related issue that has had me curious in the past is that while threads with a single image are picked up and the image displayed, a thread that included 2 or more images never shows in this gallery view. Is there a problem that prevents, say, the first image in a thread being picked out and displayed?
Just curious.

I've copied this post out of the contact form thread as this is more of a technical support question / suggestion.

There are two versions of the gallery view, one which is in use in forums where most photo-sharing threads have a single post with photos (such as PYP), and one in use in forums with long photo sharing threads, such as the lens clubs. The former, by design, only shows the first photo from the OP's newest post in each thread, whereas the latter shows the first photo from any post. The drawback of the latter is that you can't comment inline, because that could potentially get quite confusing in a thread with 100+ pages. Both versions have a fixed photo limit sorted either by age or popularity.

There are typically two reasons why a photo doesn't appear: either the image in the post being inspected by the system is embedded incorrectly (for example, incomplete IMG tags preceding a set of valid tags), or our server failed to retrieve the remote image (this is much more rare).

Also, an image may disappear from the PYP gallery view, and get replaced by another photo, if the original poster shares another photo in the same thread.
