Adam,
The forum is X-HTML 1.0 Transitional -- while the main page is HTML 1.0 Transitional. I'd suggest using the same DOCTYPE, for no other reason than consistency's sake.

On line 59, your programmer wraps a the footer DIV inside an anchor (link) tag, which is illegal:

<a href="https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/"><div class="nav_footer"></div></a>

I'd recommend putting the link inside the DIV, and styling the text as Display:None, like this:

<div class="nav_footer"><a style="background-url:foobar.jpg" href="https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/"><span style="display:none">Enter Site</span></a></div>

This will make the site accessible to people who use screen reading software, and will make it X-HTML compliant.

Also, I agree with other posters that the design of the front, while somewhat playing homage to Pentax, is fairly different than the standard theme of the site (which I know is adjustable), and is much lower key than the Pentax site.

Perhaps take a few more notes from Pentax -- keep your background white, and use shades of grey as a fill color for div's.

Just a thought. Keep up the great site.

I'll have a look at the invalid tag and fix it. As far as I can see, though, the homepage is XHTML 1.0, just like the forum.

At first I was shocked and discombobulated.

But now the Homepage is growing in me - and I've found all the links I formerly used from the old Homepage.

One thing that troubles me - somehow my user name password and that were formerly pre-filled in their boxes just waiting for me to click Login - are no linger there.

Can't figure out what I did before to amke them sticky, so now I have too type the fort letter of my UN.

The new page looks great! I was a bit slow to realise that it had changes because I use a direct link to the forums! (even though I got an email) It looks very slick and user friendly, good job
