Camera Reviews Section Added

Camera Reviews Section Added

The long-awaited camera reviews section is finally here! We decided to incorporate it into the forum, rather than to use an external database such as those used for the lens reviews.

This section will have a twofold purpose:
1. To allow forum users to post their reviews and opinions about specific cameras as replies
2. To provide information tables and photos for all k-mount camera bodies

We plan to expand this section in the future to include 645, 6x7, and M42 bodies as well. If you see a camera that's missing a photo, please send Ole a PM!

The camera reviews will be accessible through the 'Pentax Cameras' forum category.

Select a section to begin browsing and posting reviews!

K-Mount Digital SLR
K-Mount 35mm Film AF
K-Mount 35mm Film MF

I hope you enjoy and find this section useful!

Might be a bug: Clicking on 'Pentax Camera Reviews' makes you go the digital section straight away.

Great addition to the website. I hope people won't start (ab)using the K7 thread for speculation and such.

Not a bug; there's just no way to link to an index of all cameras at once using the current system, so I figured that having the main link go directly to DSLRs would be the most convenient.

Camera Reviews Section

Add my thanks to the list - to Adam and Ole' for this addition, and to all the Mods and behind-the-scenes contributors for helping to build out this Forum.

I remain convinced that you are helping Pentax stay in the game.

I noticed the new section yesterday, looking into the K-7 threads.
A welcome addition - one that will allow newbs and those looking for upgrades ready access to practical info on each body.

Great work Adam.

Good idea! I'll be sure to post reviews of both my present and past camera(s).

One thing that 'struck' my mind when I read it, though:
What about reviews of third party SLRs? I know it is a bit 'off' as this is a Pentax forum, but I think that quite some users have a digital Pentax, a couple of old (M/A) lenses, and either got e.g. a Chinon or a Ricoh from a friend or cheap on eBay for experimenting with film as well as use the old lenses in their intended aspect.

Of course, this probably means a lot of work, and there is surely a heap of third party bodies which makes it even worse, but take it as a suggestion.

All the Post Your Photo's threads now have the Camera Review section suffix after their title, eg. "On the Boardwalk Camera Information/Reviews"

Fixed. That was just a small omission in my conditionals.

Just a THANK-YOU from someone who wasn't too familiar with ALL the Pentax cameras.

How about the waterproof point & shooters

For several years I have been working with and doing design accessories for the Pentax W30 & W60 waterproof cameras.

Could there be a way to review these as well?

We may incorporate those later on, along with the other cameras that are planned.
