Unable to create new threads

Whenever I attempt to post a new thread, I get taken to this page: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/newthread.php?do=postthread&f=14

In Firefox, the page is blank.

In Safari, I get this message:

QuoteQuote:
Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/newthread.php?do=postthread&f=14” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again.
In IE I get:

QuoteQuote:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problems
etc etc.

This happens both at work and at home. At work I'm running OSX, at home I'm on Vista.

Ahem.

Well, this is ironic, since this thread was created just fine.

For the record, the thread I was trying to create was to be in the General Talk forum.

That sounds like a miserable problem.

Nice one, John! Sure gave me a chuckle.

Back to business- the URL should be:

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/newthread.php?f=14 and not https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/newthread.php?do=postthread&f=14

Can you provide me with details on what particular link or button you followed to the above URL?

There wasn't anything special to it.

"New Thread" in General Talk --> Filled out the fields --> "Submit New Thread" --> https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/newthread.php?do=postthread&f=14

I tried that and cannot reproduce it. Are you still getting the error?

Also, what skin are you using?

I'm using the default skin.

Looks like I figured out the cause of the problem.

The thread I was trying to make is here: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/general-talk/81185-interesting-op-ed-rega...-new-post.html

In the original attempts to post it, I had quoted the entire article text using quote tags. When I tried to post the thread w/ the article quoted, I got sent to the incorrect URL.

When I removed the quoted text, leaving just my own paragraph and the URL, it worked.

When I tried to post the quoted article as a followup post, it failed as it had when I was trying to create the thread in the first place.

Guess it just doesn't like long quotes?

Wasn't sure if you'd catch that

The quote may have been improperly formatted, but you should still get a pretty error message rather than a blank page.
