Pentax Forums Logo redesign?

Any chance of redesigning the forum logo? I keep thinking it could be more ... elegant? I dont have any specific suggestions though.

I like our current logo- but if you want to promote some candidates, I'm always open to them

Adam: (Not scientific, but) I believe your logo uniquely identifies this Forum as the premier Pentax discussion group on the web and has already become embedded in the Pentax online community as our visual identity.

I would think long and hard before committing to a change; and if making a change, ensure thatit BETTER communicate the aims and methods of the Forum.

I have to agree...if it did change it would need to be identifiable with the old one. I like the current one....

It's simple yet effective and says it all in the logo.

The trend of responses so far seems to indicate I may be in the minority

Then count me in the minority too. It's a nice enough logo, but it looks nothing like the Pentax font and it's just a bunch of text. About the only Pentax-related part is the green star, and only because it's green and it's a star. It also brings forth no thoughts of photography, other than having the word "Pentax" in it. No camera, implied or otherwise. No lens, no flash, no tripod.

Here's a GREAT logo that incorporates all of those attributes:

On a side note, I hate how clicking on the button to add [ATTACH] tags clears all existing text from the text box. But that's for another thread.

This is a true community project now. Look at that awesome result! Nikon and Canon forums will tremble in fear...

edit: I also retained the best part of the existing logo.

The logo's coming along great. One thing I think is the forum does a great job of catering to film and digital alike, but the logo does not represent this. Maybe some film canisters or memory cards would fix this oversight?

I like it...film canisters... Oh....we forgot a large part of the forum....the general talk area....how do you represent that? I know...take the camera and add pointy spikes, then put in on a big chain. Pentax meets the gladiator....
