Right-Click Protection

Maybe I'm just paranoid but it would be nice if there was a "right-click protect" option for when we post our photos. It's not that I don't trust ya'll. It just that it would be nice.

That doesn't actually protect anything, and it's annoying as hell. Going to pass up on this one.

One can still go to view source on any browser from the view menu, unfortunately. Best thing you can do is upload small and/or watermarked images.

If someone wants to steal your shit, they are gonna steal your shit. As for watermarks? I just cropped it off your image when I uploaded it to my website...

You are aware that even with right click protect on, you can still just drag the image to the URL bar, where the image on its own will be displayed & then can be right clicked???

If you're worried about that, you should use your own host which provides such protection. Even so, as others have pointed out, there are many other ways to get around it.

All one has to do is turn off javascript and "poof" -- away goes your "protection" in a puff of smoke.

Want to protect a photo? Don't share it.

That`s right, only way to safeguard images and other information is to not post it on the internet.
You still have to deal with people going through your trash at the curb-side.

Cheers, Mike.

I know that. However, the average person doesn't. People can always screen grab and get it as well.

If a person really wants to steal something it will be stolen no matter what. Regardless of the protection.

However, the only reason I suggested it was so that it would be a deterrent for those that might try but then don't once they hit the right click protect.

Geeze, I didn't know I struck a nerve. Sorry I asked.

a good program out there for photographers is Smugmug.com....you get your own domain... gallery and storage space...customization and you also get a watermark feature. I use it for my business and i love it...and it has a very reasonable yearly price and 3 levels of prices to choose form....the staff is 100% whit glove - meaning a real person always ansewrs your questions or complaints and every single person i have dealt with so far has been extreamly nice and has no problem helping you out.
