September 2007 Winner: Tokyo Cityscape

Hi,

I just wanted to thank everyone for voting and for all the comments you made on my shot > I was very excited that my photo was talked about (and I now know what 'chiaroscuro' means!) let alone voted for!

The photo itself was taken from the observation floor of one of the two government towers in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan (both towers have observation decks, and both have free admission) which I highly recommend going to, even if your chances of seeing Mt Fuji are pitifully small. (I didn't see it, at any rate!) The views are excellent in all directions, though time of day will dictate where the best direction for photography is - my photo was taken in the morning.

Oh... and nearby, wouldn't you know it there is literally a Pentax Forum where I got to see a crocodile-skin-style/gold-plated Pentax, and an istDS like mine attached to a Pentax lens that outweighed it by a factor of probably 50:1:

It's quite worth going to - a small space but the hardware on display is very impressive
