Forum Suggestion

The link is broken now...

I just discovered the contest feature of this forum. Great!

With 17 contests, the "two winning photos gallery" should be a great feature. It isn't, though:

- some images are gone (broken link, like this one here).
- impossible to guess the theme from thread topic.
- hard to navigate

What about a "Photo Contest Winner Gallery" (as a Main Category in Photo Gallery) showcasing all photos of "Winners' Showcase" and copying the thread contents as photo comments?

And linking the current winner photo to its page in this gallery?

This would give those great photos a much better exposition.

And then, I don't like the 800x800 limitation. Great art shouldn't be judged from thumbnails.

The problem is directly related to the fact that you CAN NOT store images on the site.. It's weird. You get to upload like 1MB of images, that's it.. So, if you entered a contest and later someone asks for photos of some camera part you have to either, drop from the contest or not help the person out looking for camera parts.. It's a shame.

Hmmh. I uploaded 3 photos to the "Photo Galleries" section. Each between 0.5 and 1MB (the maximum per photo) large. Others have dozens of photos there.

So at least, there does not seem to be this limit in the "Photo Galleries" section. And they can be embedded in ordinary posts using the IMGWIDE tag and still be large for inspection.

Couldn't it then be a solution if the winning photos are moved to this space by the site admin afterwards?
