Contest Number: 113 Contest Theme: Composite Lens: SMC 35mm 2.8 Ltd Camera: Pentax K5 Shutter Speed: 1/8s Aperture: F5.6 

' The Age of Reason'. Inspired by the works of Thomas Paine. He joined the Excise service in 1762 and was based in the Alford, Lincolnshire (UK) area in 1764. His office was at the Windmill Inn, Market Square, Alford - two miles down the road from where we live in the village of Saleby . He emigrated to America and became close friends with Benjamin Franklin,Thomas Jefferson and George Washington.

A wonderful still life composition in its own right and the additional surreal melon from the globe is like a dip into another part of our world. 10/10

I love the composition. Well conceived and executed. The more I look at it, the more it intrigues me. I might have reduced the highlights on the underside of the fork a bit to more closely match the soft lighting effect of the overall scene. Just an observation, not a criticism. Enthusiastically nominated!
