Superb shot and a landscape that reminds me of my village (with the train stone bridges)

From near Ben Nevis, the highest point in Britain, and the seaport town of Mallaig, runs the Jacobite steam locomotive, otherwise known as the Hogwarts Express. This is the train that carried Harry Potter and his magical friends in the Harry Potter movies. Running since 1901, the train passes the deepest freshwater lake in Britain, Loch Morar, and crosses some of the most scenic land and ancient viaducts imaginable, including the 21-arched Glenfinnan viaduct.

Today the town of Mallaig is a bustling fishing and business port, certainly not hurt by the demand of worldwide Harry Potter fans wanting to ride the Hogwarts Express. Of particular interest to me, is a small island slightly off the coast of Mallaig, the Isle of Rum. This island was owned by a relative, George Bullough, and he built a fine castle there in 1897, the same year construction on the Jacobite train was begun.

This image of the train crossing one of the old viaducts was taken as I hung out the train window...my wife and son keeping a lookout for tunnels and branches that may not have been good for my skull.
