Brilliant witty nod to the Fritz Lang film as well as to Superman's Metropolis!* *And to architectural form in general.* The use of black and white adds to the graphic quality enhancing the variety of shapes that shift between recognizable NYC buildings and fantasy.* The jam-packed rigid grids become alive and free-form as they rise like missiles attempting to dwarf each other in the ongoing competition of skyscrapers in Manhattan and the outer boroughs.* There are so many shapes and subtle tonalities to navigate*and discover, I could look at this photograph continuously and experience new designs and thoughts.* NOMINATED!
