I really like this shot and remember it from Post your Photos. What is striking is that it looks like it has eyes and a mouth full of rusting teeth. Nice framing too.

The shot is so weird.

I mean, it looks like it's a HDR-shot, but I guess it's still not.
And it looks sharp, but still somehow soft at the same time. There's shadows and no-shadows. And no clipped highlights. Even the whole ship looks like it's been added there in the pp! So, I presume there's been lots of layers, masking, dodging, burning and more...
Or a combination of a nice soft light and very good flashwork!

Anyway, it's a cool shot of a great subject (/object?) and very good pp, no matter how you made it!

All the pp work i did was in lightroom 2.0
No hdr work.
No layers
No masking
No dodging and burning.
No flash photography.

The only thing i touched was the tone and light control's and washed out the colours, thats it!

I shot this photo with the sun high behind me. Around 11am.

See this thread for more of the set-
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/92777-machinery-rust-pie...-gayundah.html

and in my blog i recently started (its in my sig) there is another photo there that has not been seen on this forum too.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
